Thyroid/Workout Update

If you haven’t read my 6 month post, I have linked it here. I started my medicine and below is how I felt on the days following when I first started the tablets.

Day 1 I felt exactly the same as before, so nothing to report.

On day 2 of starting thyroid medication I felt absolutely horrible. I had zero energy, was in a fog all day long, and was in absolute agony. It’s the worst I have felt 6 months following the birth of Ryton. I really struggled on this day.

Day 3 I had a migraine. I suffer from migraines anyway but this came with the fog. So i took 2 Tylenol’s and I made a coffee for myself, half decaf and half with caffeine. My migraine went away and I felt like my old self again. I don’t want to make too much of a big thing about it as I couldn’t tell if my energy was from the caffeine or the thyroid medicine.

The next day, day 4, was the first day I have finally felt like myself again. I actually had energy. Enough energy that I cleaned out the freezer, started organising the pantry, made fish tacos for dinner and made a pumpkin cheesecake for our next days Mother’s Day dinner. Safe to say having this energy back is incredible. I can be a better mom and be more involved as well as have the drive to involve myself in my old hobbies like cooking/baking, and working out. Incredible that after 4 days I’m starting to feel like my old self.

On another note, I have also lost 3 lbs. So I am down to 128. This has boosted my confidence as well as allowed me the energy to return to my healthier lifestyle.

Day 5 was a lazy day anyway. Mom and I had big plans for the garage as we are trying to turn it into a gym but she was suffering from allergies quite badly. So we watched South African rugby. I also made us a Mother’s Day dinner which consisted of a rack of lamb, mushroom risotto, and an artichoke salad. For dessert we had pumpkin cheesecake Which I’ve been meaning to make since Thanksgiving.

So as you can tell it took about 4 days for this medicine to finally kick in and for me to finally have energy to enjoy myself again. I had more blood work done to see if my body was creating antibodies. This blood work help My doctor see where I was with my thyroid and she did call to increase the dosage of the medicine I’m taking.

I have plateaued again at about 125 but I am starting to workout a lot more now to try and lean my body back up. You can tell from my above picture, this is me at about 127lbs. I will post an update shot when we go to San Diego for vacation. I bought a stationary bike, a treadmill, and a punching bag and have been working out almost everyday. We are heading to San Diego in August so I at least have a set date and goal to workout to.
